Now days publishers are tight with their money and many are not eager to shell out a dime for new authors to promote their work.
Even if promotion could in many cases mean more sales for them.
What then is an author to do?
Well, you take your book, hit the web and then the road. Just like those door-to-door salesmen of years ago.
Here is one author who,(with no help from her publisher) hit the bestsellers list.
I am sure her publisher will be funding her next endeavor, with loads of dough!
