Yesterday I received 113 new queries.

A total of 359 queries (and first 5 pages) over the holiday weekend.

And that was in addition to all the other queries in my inbox.

While I am honored that so many wonderful authors are submitting their work to me, it has also become an enormous task (that I have to do after-hours or on weekends) and I am falling behind in my responses. I also have a folder full of partial requests and another loaded with full manuscripts that I am dying to read. All this has to be done AFTER taking care of my clients.

In light of this, I will be closed to all unsolicited queries from June 1, 2012.

Unsolicited -- Adjective: Not asked for. Also means given or done voluntarily.

All emails will be sorted and deleted by an actual human being, so anyone who has sent me queries or requested partials/full manuscripts before June 1st will still be considered. If you are referred by a client or someone I actually know, your query will still be considered.

If I meet you at a conference and request your work, it is considered a solicited query/manuscript and it will definitely be considered.

Thank you.

*** UPDATE: I attended so many conferences and participated in numerous online contests, so I have not yet opened to queries, but I will post here as soon as I do.
